The outer story is usually called the \u2018frame narrative,\u2019 for the simple reason that it \u2018frames\u2019 the other stories rather as a picture frame surrounds a\u00a0picture.<\/p>\n<p>We will have more to say about these stories-within-stories and frame narratives when we come to consider the role of the narrator (or narrators) later in this unit (or you can go there directly <a href=\"https:\/\/licor.hivolda.no\/?page_id=282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>).
